Rules

AGE REQUIREMENTS

Pitchers must turn 30 by January 1st of season

Each team is allowed (3) non pitchers. Must turn 26 prior to January 1st of season

EQUIPMENT

All teams / players are responsible for their own bats, helmets, catchers gear

Wood and composite bats are allowed (no exceptions)

Helmets are mandatory and ear flap must be on ear facing pitcher

Catcher must have protective helmet

Both molded rubber and metal cleats are permitted on natural fields

No metal cleats are permitted on synthetic fields

Players must wear same uniform top/jersey with jersey # on back

Balls to be supplied by league

GAMES

Game must begin within 10 minutes of scheduled start time

Games must be completed within 2 hr 45 minutes of scheduled game start – unless there is no follow-up game scheduled

8 players minimum to start a game, shorthanded team can borrow 9th player to start game – player to be returned once 9th player arrives

OFFENSIVE AND DEFENSIVE LINEUPS

Teams are to supply umpires and opponents with batting lineup – to include players’ last name and uniform number, as well as reserve players name and numbers

10 batter minimum – does not include A/B spot

There is no maximum amount of batters

A/B HITTERS ALLOWED

Example: 8th spot Wright / Reyes are A/B batters

Wright hits in 8A spot first time and 3rd time through order and Reyes hits in 8B spot second and fourth time through order

Each team is allowed 2 courtesy runners – must be established prior to game and runner is not allowed to appear as runner during game

All players are eligible to be substituted defensively throughout game

Pitchers may re-enter game (both starting and relievers) after 3 outs are made by their team

Example: Lugo completes 7th, Diaz pitches 8th, Lugo is eligible to pitch 9th inning

Roster size: 14 player minimum

PLAYOFF ELIGIBILITY

Players are required to have either 3 more at bats more than teams games played

Example: Giants have played 9 games throughout end of season – Posey needs 12 at bats (includes hbp and walks) to qualify for playoffs or pitchers need to pitch 1 more inning than teams games played. Example: Giants have played 9 games throughout end of season, Lincecum needs 10 innings pitched to qualify for playoffs

SEASON SCORING SYSTEM

2 points for wins, 1 point for ties, 0 points for loss

RAIN/OFFICIAL GAME PER MAJOR LEAGUE RULES

Game is official after 4 1/2 innings or both teams get 5 at bats

FORFEITS AND MAKEUP GAMES

Team unable to field a team the day of scheduled game will receive a forfeit resulting in 2 points for opponent and 0 points for forfeiting team

Mercy rule: 12 run lead after 5 innings

UMPIRE FEES AND BASEBALLS

Each team to supply 3 game balls and need to supply backup balls as needed

Games rescheduled due to pre-cancellation and or rain need to finish
